Korean Embassy selects Benjamin Garelick, from the Academic Taekwondo as the winner of the 2009 Taekwondo Essay Contest!
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Washington D.C.
is pleased to announce the final results of the 2009 Taekwondo Essay
Contest. After reviewing an overflow of impressive entries, the essays by
the following authors have been selected for recognition:

Group 1: elementary school students (Kindergarten through grade 5)
Group 2: middle and high school students (grades 6 through 12)
Group 3: college students and adults
| Benjamin won the first place that came with a $1,000.00 prize. The prize will be presented to him at the Korean Embassy in Washington D.C. |
The Korean Embassy wishes to congratulate all the Taekwondo students, teachers, and enthusiasts who submitted essays on their sincere, commendable efforts. The final results arrived after consideration of about 450 entries, all of which were carefully read by our staff and judges in a painstaking process.
The authors whose essays were selected will received an invitation to an awards ceremony at the Koran Embassy in Washington D.C. The winning essays will be bound to a book, published and translated into other languages.
