HAPPY
NEW YEAR!
Dear Parents and Students,
Looking back at 1999, we can be proud of all the great things we accomplished in the field of Taekwondo. With the same energy and determination we will continue our quest to be our best throughout the New Year 2000. We have many exciting events to look forward to, such as: seminars, demonstrations, and competitions. At the same time, we will be developing new skills both mental and physical.
This summer Taekwondo will be featured, for the first time, as a full-medal sport in the Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Closer to the home front, our calendar has been marked for a promotion test on January 29, 2000, a Friendship Tournament, hosted by Superior Taekwondo Academy on February 26, demonstration for 800 school aged children at Wynnebrook Elementary school on March 3, and this winter we will have a chance to train with 7th degree master Dae-Soon Na, who recently moved here from Korea.
The winners of the Florida State Championships, coming up in April and May (dates and places not yet available), will have the opportunity to pursue the US National Champion’s title for Juniors in San Antonio, Texas, and for Seniors in Colorado Springs, Colorado, respectively.

We have two exciting Taekwondo events coming up in February. The first one, Seminar with Master Na, will take place at the Weiss School (during school hours) on Friday, February 4, at 12:00 p.m. Participants must be Blue Belts, or higher. Space is limited to 45 participants. First Come - First
Served!
I strongly recommend this interactive seminar to all intermediate level students.
Our second event is Master Washington’s Friendship Tournament on Saturday, February 26, 2000. This invitational tournament is open for all belt levels between the ages 4 and 17. Entry forms are available from Master Powell.
