Hidemi Hayashi GOLD
Arielle Sabatino GOLD
Sanjay Chakravorty GOLD
Zach Trider SILVER

All our other team members placed within the top 4  positions of their divisions at the Florida State Taekwondo Championships.

This year, only gold and silver medallists will qualify to compete at the National level. Since the number of State competitors has increased to around a thousand participants, a second qualifying tournament has been scheduled for May 6th, 2000, giving the students a second chance to qualify to compete for a National Taekwondo title.

Congratulations!

AAT Frienship Tournament

About a dozen competitors from the Weiss School attended the West Palm Beach A.A.T. Mini Tournament at the American College of Taekwondo, in West Palm Beach, FL, on March 18, 2000. Our students’ performances ranked at the top of the participating schools.

Demo Team

Congratulations are also in order for our 23-member Junior Demonstration Team for their wonderful performances at the Wynnebrook Elementary school on March 3rd.

New pictures are displayed in the Do-Jang.

New Belts

Breaking Blindfolded

The Link sisters really outdid themselves at our March promotion test/graduation.

Erin passed her testing with flying colors and received her Academic Taekwondo 1st degree Black Belt. One of her requirements was to break boards, blindfolded, using a front snap kick followed by a turning hammer-fist strike.

Unified Youth Sports Festival & Olympic Spirit

Tatsuaki Hayashi, our two-time National Jr. Olympic Gold-medallist, and 5-time State Champion, was given the honor to do the torch-run and lighting the “Olympic” flame at the opening ceremonies of the Palm Beach County’s  Unified Youth Sports Festival on April 15, 2000.

The Palm Beach County Sports Institute is organizing its annual Unified Youth Sports Festival to be held at the Dwyer High School on Saturday,  April 15.  This full day event will feature demonstrations and sports clinics of 23 different sports, giving you a great opportunity to try out and familiarize yourself with a brand new sport.  Taekwondo clinics will be run throughout the day.  An estimated 1,000 Palm Beach County children, ages 5-17, is expected to participate.

Fl. State Championships

Registration deadline is April 20, 2000, for the Deerfield Beach Competition.
