Two Academic Taekwondo students, Jennifer Tilton (grade 8) and Leah Nunez (Alumni) competed at the 16th U.S. Open Taekwondo Championships at the Orlando Convention Center on February 15-18, 2007.
I am very proud of both girls' performances at this top level international black belt event, which was sanctioned by the WTF (World Taekwondo Federation) and hosted by the USA-Taekwondo.
Leah competed in the senior division (ages 18-32), winning a silver medal for U.S.A. Denmark took gold.
Jennifer placed 8th in her junior division which had 21 Black Belts competing for the title.
