The Academic Taekwondo® Program, which has
been taught at the Weiss School by Master Marika Powell since 1990, was
recognized by the United States Taekwondo Union (USTU quarterly
publication, fall 1996 issue) as the first Taekwondo program in the
U.S. to have been incorporated into an elementary school curriculum
as a required graded subject (K through 8).
In addition to numerous State and even National Taekwondo titles, this unique, fully accredited program has produced 33 Kukkiwon certified Black Belts, the highest one being 3rd degree.
