Our fully
accredited Academic Taekwondo® Program has been
taught as a required (graded) subject at Elementary & Middle School
levels since 1990 in south Florida.

Academic and intellectual success is continually complemented by a
well-rounded program in physical education. Two times per week all students participate in one hour of Taekwondo, the Korean martial art, which is ideal for young children.
Taekwondo is compatible with the basic
principles of gifted and standard education, giving each child the freedom to advance at his or her own pace. The program helps children develop physical strength, flexibility, endurance, and self-control, as well as a
strong sense of self-discipline, self-esteem, and responsibility.

The Academic Taekwondo®
is a Licensed member of the
US. Taekwondo Union.
Naturally, many aspects of the traditional Taekwondo instruction required
modifications in order to comply with an elementary school environment.
Some examples of modifications were, to match promotion tests with the
schools' quarterly grading periods, adjust the ranking system to maintain
the national training levels (due to class length, holidays and vacations),
and to incorporate all school rules and policies into the Taekwondo rules, and vise versa.
The Academic Taekwondo®
curriculum was designed to include (age and
grade appropriate) verbal, written and physical study materials, home work assignments,
and exercises correlating with elementary and middle school policies.
